An independent production of Bartók Plus Opera Festival.
Ever since its establishment Bartók Plus Opera Festival has been elaborating a multi-coloured picture of Bartók’s works to the audience.
Bartók is the most original call word for a dialogue between artists or branches of art, for the implementation of stage and musical experiments, now opening a new chapter with the 2018 Bluebeard 100 program of the festival.
The opera, along with Bartók’s other two stage works, will be staged according to the world renowned director, Michał Znaniecki’s concepts, who said: “Every time I face Bartok’s world I’m surprised how modern his masterpieces are. In my mise en scene I discover that the Freudian context of the epoch is a very strong inspiration of Bartok work. I follow this line in the interpretation of characters and plot. I’ll translate metaphoric and symbolic visions in a real psychoanalyst session: Discovering the darkest secrets of the human soul. Love, complexes, fears and desires will lead our Judith in 3 different stories. She will be a Princess, she will be a Prostitute, she will be a new Bluebeard’s wife transiting different experiences and emotions. The modern set. The new lecture of fairy tales. The virtual world of today will help us understand and follow the process of growing up and discovering emotions, relations, and dark sides of our souls.”
