The “Bartók Choir of Miskolc” was established in 1975 as oratorio-choir. At present, the choir has double profile, which has been developped during the 1970s: it performs both oratorios and a capella works, from renaissance up to the contemporary music.
The chorus acts also significant role in the musical life of the city of Miskolc. It performs 4-5 oratorios per year not only in philharmonic concerts, but in the concerts of the Chamber Choir Festival of Miskolc and the concert-series of the University of Miskolc. Several contemporary works’ premier or Hungarian premier was introduced in these concerts.
The “In Aeternum Bartók Choir”was founded in September, 2013 by the previous and present members of the above mentioned “Bartók Choir of Miskolc”. This new choir has already performed several successful concerts as chamber choir in Miskolc and in its surroundings. The choir competition of Bratislava is the first international competition, where the choir took part.
