beltrami matteo 2016 webMatteo Beltrami graduated in Violin at the N. Paganini Music Conservatory in Genoa and in Orchestral Conducting at the G. Verdi Music Conservatory in Milan.
He made his conducting debut at age 20 in Genoa with Il Trovatore.

 

From 1996 to 1998 was principal conductor of the “Ensemble Giovanile Genovese"", leading numerous symphonic and chamber music concerts.
From 1998 to 2004, he made numerous operatic debuts, including: Le Nozze di Figaro; Don Giovanni; Verdi''s Requiem; Il Barbiere di Siviglia; La Traviata; Il Trovatore; Rigoletto; La Bohème; Tosca; Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci.
In 2004, he was invited to conduct Il Matrimonio Segreto with the G. Gavazzeni Symphonic Orchestra, thereafter becoming guest conductor. He then opened the opera season in Vercelli with Il Trovatore, followed by Madama Butterfly in Uberaba, Brasil.
He was finalist at the F. Capuana European Young Conductors Competition, were he was also awarded a special mention.
Highlights of his 2005 collaborations include: a series of concerts with the Gavazzeni Orchestra and the Orchestra della Fondazione I Pomeriggi Musicali La Cenerentola in Lecce, La Traviata in Bilbao and at the Staatsoper in Stuttgart.
In 2006, he conducted: Il Barbiere di Siviglia with As.Li.Co. and in Shanghai on tour with Genoa''s Teatro Carlo Felice  Rigoletto in Mantua, L''Elisir d''Amore in Montpellier, and Don Giovanni in Bilbao.
The following years, he enjoyed several important collaborations, including: his US debut with La Cenerentola at the Spoleto/Charleston Festival Menotti''s La Medium and Gianni Schicchi at the theaters of the Circuito Lirico Lombardo, La Voix Humaine and I Pagliacci at the Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi and at the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara, Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Ravenna, Il Campanello in Fano, Rigoletto in Dresden, L''Elisir d''Amore at the Teatro la Fenice in Venice, and Nabucco in Darmstadt.
He recently conducted La Bohème in Venice, La Medium and Gianni Schicchi in Trieste, and Il Barbiere di Siviglia with As.Li.Co.
Mr. Beltrami enjoys a prolific concert activity, with collaborations with such artists as Jonas Kaufmann (Munich and Hamburg), Egils Silins (Riga), Fiorenza Cedolins (St. Petersburg), Bruno De Simone (Teatro San Carlo in Naples), and numerous other concerts at the Verdi Festival in Parma, at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona and at the Teatro Bellini in Catania.
