Hungarian Symphony Orchestra Miskolcsymphony orchestra
As the only professional full orchestra in the region and due to their outstanding reputation, the Hungarian Symphony Orchestra Miskolc can be considered the prime guarantee for the presence of symphonic music in the region.
Concert series for season ticket holders, individually organized concerts and summer concerts in its seat, Miskolc, account for the majority of its engagements, but the orchestra also gives concerts in Hungary''s capital and other cities on a regular basis. Every year, the Hungarian Radio broadcasts several live concerts by the orchestra, and the Hungarian Television also records several hours of its concerts.
The most renowned Hungarian conductors and soloists are permanent participants and contributors at the concerts of the orchestra. The artistic work based on domestic an international demand is performed by an ensemble consisting of 84 professional musicians, all of whom are highly qualified music academy or college graduates. The orchestra has a rich repertoire embracing all musical styles and genres from baroque to contemporary pieces (symphonic music, opera, operetta, musical, film music, symphonic dance music).
They regularly perform at the Bartók Plus Opera Festival, Miskolc.
