The Hungarian mezzo-soprano, Melinda Heiter, had her first experience with classical music at the age of six, when she began to play the piano. After 12 years of piano studies and choir experience, she started to take vocal training lessons and decided to be a soloist. Besides her French and Portuguese Language and Literature studies at the University Eötvös Lóránd of Budapest, she studied singing with the professors Ilona Adorján, József Hormai and Katalin Szőke.
In 2004 she passed in the Faculty of Solo singing - Teacher of the College of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (Budapest, Hungary), where she graduated in 2008 with excellent qualifications, under the direction of Brigitta Kovács and the pianist József Balog. Since 2003 she works regularly with Julia Hamari, she attended her master-classes and private lessons in Budapest, Győr (Hungary) and Stuttgart (Germany). She also participated in the master-classes of György Vashegyi and of Walter Moore in 2005. In 2008 she attended a theatrical workshop lead by Jeanne Henny. In 2011 she took part in master-classes given by John Norris and Francisco Araiza. Currently she is working with the Hungarian mezzo-soprano, Bernadett Wiedemann.
She has appeared at the Csokonai National Theatre, of Miskolc National Theatre, National Theatre, State Theatre Braunschweig, Béla Bartók National Concert Hall, Szombathely Bartók Hall, Das Zentrum Europasaal Bayreuth, Stadthalle Bayreuth. She has performed in many national and international festivals: Miskolc International Opera Festival, Franz Liszt Jubiläum Bayreuth in 2011, the Budapest Spring Festival, Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg Opera Festival, Iseum Outdoor Festival, Early Music Days Fertőd, Richard Wagner''s Bayreuth Jubiläum 2013. In 2013 she won the VIII. Joseph Simándy International Singing Competition and brought two special awards. In the same year she received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association, Bayreuth.
She debuted at the Hungarian State Opera in the role of Dorabella in 2012 and appeared as Mercedes and Cherubin in the 2013/2014 season.
