Dmitry Ovchinnikov was born in Moscow, graduated from the Moscow State Art and Cultural University (training course of Professor L. Zimnenko), improved his skills in the master classes of G. Bizi, G. Borelli, D. Vdovin, V. Keller, A. Mariotti. He is a finalist of the Belvedere International Vocal Competition (Austria, 2004). Dmitry was awarded the Order “The Professional of Russia” (2007).
Dmitry Ovchinnikov has been a soloist of Helikon-Opera since 2001. In 2004 he made his debut on the stage of the Viennese Chamber Opera in the play “Rita” by G. Donizetti. In 2008 he made his debut in the “Novaya Opera” theatre in “Le Barbier de Séville” by G. Rossini. He has been a guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre since 2010, the Dzhalil Tatar Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre since 2013 (Kazan).
Dmitry sang on the stages of the San Carlos Theatre (Portugal), the Municipal Theatre of Santiago (Chile), appeared at such festivals as the Luberon Durance (France), the Kostroma Operanya, the Parade of Opera Stars (Krasnoyarsk). Together with the State Symphonic Chapel directed by V. Polyansky Dmitry took part in the concert performances of the operas “War and Peace” by S. Prokofiev, “The Nightingale” by I. Stravinsky, “Andrea Chénier” by U. Giordano, “Un Ballo in Maschera” by G. Verdi, collaborated with such conductors as T. Currentzis, G. Rozhdestvensky, D. Ranzetti, E. Klas, L. Campelone, K. M. Muller, M. Boemi.
