Since 2008 the singer has been a member of the ensemble of the National Theatre Mannheim, where he gave his highly acclaimed debut as a dramatic tenor, singing Walther von Stolzing in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.
Since then he has been singing Parsifal, Bacchus and Loge in Mannheim and has expanded his repertoire with the leading tenor roles in Lohengrin, Der Freischütz, Les contes d’Hoffmann, Carmen, Samson and Delila.
He was also invited to the Wagner in Budapest Festival led by Ádám Fischer, where he had a great success as Lohengrin in 2011 and 2013-ban.
In March 2008 István Kovácsházi was awarded the Liszt Prize by the Hungarian Ministry of Education and Arts.
