Bartók Plus Opera Festival hosts world-renowned Hungarian artists as well as stars of the international opera scene. Since its beginnings almost all significant soloists, opera companies and music ensembles from Central Eastern Europe have appeared on its stages at least once. Paulo Ferreira is an internationally recognized Portuguese tenor. Recently he sang amongst other, the roles of Don Alvaro (La forza del destino) at the Basel Theater (Switzerland), Riccardo (Un ballo in Maschera) at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck (Austria), Foresto (Attila) at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern (Germany), Cavaradossi (Tosca) at the Hanover State Opera (Germany), Enzo (La Gioconda) at the Malmö Opera (Sweden) and his Italian debut as Maurizio (Adriana Lecouvreur) at the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli conducted by Maestro Daniel Oren.
