Performers
Bartók Plus Opera Festival hosts world-renowned Hungarian artists as well as stars of the international opera scene. Since its beginnings almost all significant soloists, opera companies and music ensembles from Central Eastern Europe have appeared on its stages at least once. Andrew Wicks began singing as a chorister at Chichester Cathedral. He studied Music at Durham University and singing at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Tenor, Mihail Mihaylov, graduated from the National Music Academy of Sofia ‘Prof. Pancho Vladigerov’ Academy, where he studied with Professor Ivanka Ninova. At the age of twenty-two, during his studies, he made his opera debut singing the part of Count Almaviva in G. Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia.
